About me, Pia
I am Pia Bergvall Lundén, a completely self tought artist, illustrator and pattern designer. I have my own brand with the same name as my company, Originella Original®.
I live and work in Vallentuna, north of Stockholm, in my
home studio where I have my office/showroom and warehouse.
I am a lot of everything and a little bit more. Enjoying the beauty around us, seeing and observing details in everything. My photographic memory comes in handy when I am in my creative mood.
I am a mother of three adult children and two years ago I became a grandmother for the first time. Loving it, and her to the moon and back! My husband, Ludde is my rock who always helps me when I need it and a lot of my retailers have met him on trade shows over the years.
This summer we went to Italy and France and brought back a lot of joy and inspiration.
Pia – The artist
I am a wildlife artist, painting mostly animals. I love to bring the paintings to life. I have my own signature style and it is quite easy to recognize a Pia Bergvall Lundén painting. I paint in acrylic and watercolors.
Pia – the illustrator
My drawing are made with pen and paper, mostly black ink. I also draw directly in my IPad, using my apple pen in a program called Procreate. It is fun, but nothing beats the real pen and paper.
Pia – Pattern designer
Creating pattern is more of a passion to me. I love to make the elements, think of a hero pattern and make collections etc. Love to combine the elements and create the layout of the pattern and see it appear in front of me. And how only a tiny bit of adjustment of an element can change the whole pattern to fulfillment. It demands a certain “eye” to work it out.
